Our Professional Process
To ensure a project meets our customer's expectations, we use the same project methodology on all projects, regardless of their size. However, unlike large software companies, we do not charge for implementation of these methodologies. It violates our business model. Here are the basic steps of our project methodology. On small projects, we combine some of these steps.
- Define Business Need and/or Problem
- Define User Requirements
- Specify System Functionality
- Define Software and Hardware Requirements
- Generate Technical Specifications and Build Project
- Obtain Client Acceptance (continuous process)
- Documentation and Testing
- Obtain Final Customer Acceptance
- Provide Maintenance Plan if Required
Building with Blocks
Most of what is needed in any custom software application has already been built.
Just like building a house out of blocks, we will can build your custom website or business application out of Software Blocks.
Using what is referred to as Rapid Application Development (RAD), we can quickly and economically provide a "custom" software application.
Some business needs can be met with a standard off-the-shelf application.
Other times, we start with an off-the-shelf application and add minor modifications so it precisely meets your needs.
When needed, we can also build a completely custom application.
The Logic of a Software Developer and the Goals of a Businessman
Providing effective software solutions takes many diverse skills.
During the past 30 years, I have provided solutions to all types of businesses located throughout the United States.
I have always enjoyed the challenge of applying technology to meet the needs of business and industry.
I never undertake any project without first understanding the business purpose.
All too often, technology is applied for the sake of technology, without any specific business goal in mind.
I have seen websites that meet no business need, and are not listed in any search engines.
That will not happen when you use Hoge Software Solutions.
As stated in our Business Model, we only implement projects that have a specific economic impact on the business.
That is my commitment to you.
Thank You,
Daniel J. Hoge
